Mad Riddim is a mash-up making, drum and bass led groove machine, mixing classic dub sensibilities with the attitude of funk and the improvisation of jazz. Formed in Vancouver BC by drummer Richard Brown and bassist Matt Reid, Mad Riddim is founded on an intuitive musical connection and a shared vision of pushing the traditional boundaries of a rhythm section.
With a commitment to exploring musical collaborations from drum and bass- centric perspectives, Mad Riddim have taken their engaging and dynamic live show to festivals such as the Beijing World Music Festival, Strawberry Music Festival (Guangzhou, China), Victoria Skafest, Calgary Reggae Festival, Richmond World Music Festival, African Descent Festival, and many more. The band has also performed extensively on big stages in support of international touring artists such as Morgan Heritage, Inner Circle, Easy Star All Stars, Lee "Scratch" Perry and Kymani Marley.
Hitting 2020 at full stride, Mad Riddim looks forward to bringing their diverse and exciting live experience to music listeners and festival-goers from all walks of life both in Canada and abroad.
