Francis Arevalo

Francis Arevalo is a Filipino-Canadian artist, songwriter and producer based in Vancouver BC. From playing intimate shows at local cafes to playing theatres and headlining his own shows, he is comfortable on any stage and always delivers memorable performances. His music has been described as coming from "the feeling that he’s found and embraced a truth deep within himself, that he sees the world not through rose-coloured glasses, but in shades of optimism, hope, and beauty" (DOMINIONATED, September 2018). He is known for his personal storytelling, honest lyrics, energetic performances, and uplifting energy. He is fulfilled by community building, and cultivating creativity. He is one-half of the musical duo Roya & Francis and plays with his band The Free Agency. His latest releases are the EP “The Sound of Healing” and the single and music video for “Move On” with Desirée Dawson.

He is also a passionate mental health advocate whose journey battling bi-polar disorder through music was the subject of a 2017 Vancouver Asian Film Fest award-winning documentary "The Lion"; for this, he was named one of the Centre for Addictions and Mental Health Top 150 Canadian mental health advocates of 2018.
