Where, When and Getting Here

    Surrey Fusion Festival is a free, two-day festival on July 22 and 23 at Holland Park (13428 Old Yale Road) in Surrey, BC and is open from 11am to 10pm each day. Holland Park is located beside King George Skytrain station.

    Surrey Fusion Festival is British Columbia’s largest multicultural event, and is known as the ultimate celebration of food, music and culture. It offers cuisine from around the world from 50 community hosted cultural pavilions and music and entertainment across seven stages. It was also awarded as the world’s “Best Festival” at the 2019 Special Events Magazine Gala Awards held in San Diego, California. It was also awarded "Best Cultural Event" by the Canadian Event Awards and "Best Public Event" by the International Live Events Association - Vancouver Chapter in 2022.

    No! Surrey Fusion Festival offers free admission to attendees. 

    Holland Park is located directly across from King George Station, and a short walk from Surrey Central Station. The closest bus loop to the site is located at Surrey Central Exchange, one block away. TransLink encourages people to use a Compass Card or pre-purchase their return tickets on the day they intend to travel, which can be done at any Compass Vending Machine. For further transit information, please contact Translink at 604-953-3333 or click on Trip Planner at translink.ca

    Public parking near Holland Park is extremely limited, and it is recommended that attendees take transit, taxis, ride-hailing services, or walk to the festival. If driving, there is extremelely limited parking available at Surrey City Hall (13450 104 Ave). Parking at Central City Shopping Centre is restricted to shopping centre customers only. Utilizing carpools when driving to the festival is highly recommended.

    The Bicycle Valet will be on site monitoring and parking bikes in bike racks at Gate 5 (the closest to King George Skytrain Station).

    Surrey Fusion Festival will have the curb lane of Old Yale Rd closed between University Dr and the signalized mall entrance. The curb lane closure will be in place from 8:00 a.m. of July 20 through to 4:00 p.m. on July 24, 2023.

    Health and Safety

      Surrey Fusion Festival will meet health and safety guidelines as set out by the Provincial Health Officer, Worksafe BC, Fraser Health and appropriate industry associations.

      Safety Measures

      • We encourage cashless payments. Please come prepared with debit and credit cards.
      • We encourage guests to frequently use sanitizer stations, conveniently located throughout the venue.
      • Please be responsible and consider people's situations and comfort levels.

      All guests will be subject to search for prohibited and illicit items upon entry in the interest of public and patron safety. All bags are subject to search and seizure. 

      Prohibited items include: 

      • Barbecues 
      • Drugs or alcohol 
      • Any weapon or item that can be used as a weapon 
      • Pop up tents 
      • Unsealed bottles (only empty water bottles will be permitted) 
      • Large umbrellas (only small, compact umbrellas will be permitted) 
      • No signs

      *Additional items may be deemed prohibited or illicit as per event security. 

      No, pets and animals are not allowed within the festival site.

      The First Aid Tent is located to the left of the Concord Pacific World Music Stage, near Gate 9.

      The RCMP tent is located along the northern fence line (Old Yale Road) near exit Gate 5A.

      No. Smoking of cigarettes, vapes and cannabis are prohibited. There are no designated smoking areas on site. 

      If you find a lost person
      If a person becomes lost or separated from their group, parent or guardian at the festival, a festival staff, emergency services, crew or volunteer should be notified and they should escort the person to the RCMP tent located near Gate 5A. RCMP will handle all occurrences of lost persons directly. 

      If you find a group, parent or guardian who has lost a person 
      If someone becomes lost or separated from their group, parent or guardian at the festival, festival staff, emergency services, crew or volunteer should be notified and the person should be informed of the location of the RCMP tent near Gate 5A.

      Emergency Exits are located at Gate 3 (west of The Cantina area), Gate 4 (beside the west end of Row #1), Gate 5A and 5B (going toward King George SkyTrain station), Gate 6 and 6A (near Lot B, Volunteer Headquarters and the Sensory Space), within the Indigenous Village and on either side of Gate 7. 

      If you find a lost item, please return it to the Info tent located at the end of Pavilion Row 6. If you've lost an item, please email specialevents@surrey.ca to confirm if the item had been handed in.

      Food, Drinks and Amenities

        Surrey Fusion Festival is all about the food! Try cuisine from around the world at a variety of cultural food pavilions on site. 

        Food will be available for purchase using credit, debit and cash cards from cultural pavilions. If using cash, attendees can purchase a cash card from the designated “Cash Card” tent to use at food pavilions.

        Surrey Fusion Festival encourages cashless payments throughout the event site.

        Alcoholic beverages can be purchased within the designated "The Cantina presented by Dished" area located at the north end of the park, near the Main Stage between 12:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. each day. Two drinks can be served per person at one time. All customers wishing to purchase alcoholic beverages must first obtain a DAV (Drinking Age Verified) wristband from security guards located at the two entrances to the Dished Global Beer and Wine Tasting area. Patrons must be 19+ to enter the licensed area, and will produce two pieces of ID (an official government issued I.D. that include your name, picture, signature, and date of birth such as a drivers’ license or passport and a secondary piece of I.D. with your name and signature such as a credit card) to receive their DAV wristband. Once they have a wristband, they can be served a licensed beverage. 

        Attendees are welcome to bring in one personal empty reusable bottle. Bags will be subject to search at the gate prior to entrance.

        Blankets and foldable chairs are permitted on site. We ask that attendees respect those around them, and do not block stage viewing for other attendees if seated on chairs.

        Yes! Surrey Fusion Festival is family friendly. There is a Kid's Zone featuring children’s performers, arts and crafts, plus amusement rides and inflatables available for kids to enjoy near Gate 7. 

        Yes. The baby change table tent is located in the Kid's Zone, beside the Downtown Surrey BIA Craft Tent.

        Guests may use personal cameras and mobile phones to take photos inside the venue. To apply for media accreditation and access to the photography pit at the festival, please fill out the media accreditation form.

        Accessibility

          The City of Surrey has an unwavering commitment to creating events that are enjoyable and inclusive to everyone. 

          Accessibility services include:

          • Limited Accessible Vehicle Parking: Accessible parking is available on a first come, first served basis in Lot C at Holland Park, located off King George Boulevard
          • ASL Interpreter: An ASL interpreter is present at all events on the main stage during ceremonies to translate speeches by land-based Nations, elected officials, and dignitaries
          • Accessible Viewing Deck: Surrey Fusion Festival offers a reserved accessible viewing deck in front of the Main Stage that provides an elevated and comfortable space for those who require it. Reservations must be made 48 hours before the event. Email specialevents@surrey.ca to reserve a space.
          • Wheelchair Accessible Picnic Tables: Accessible picnic tables are positioned in eating areas.
          • Paved Pathways: 6-foot wide paved pathways are available throughout Holland Park.
          • Adult and Baby Changing Facilities: Surrey Fusion Festival is equipped with adult change tables and baby change tables to ensure convenient, safe, and comfortable changing spaces for families and those of all abilities.
          • Accessible Washrooms: Numerous accessible porta-potties are strategically placed throughout the event.
          • Sensory Friendly Spaces: Hosted by the Canucks Autism Network, the City’s major events feature dedicated sensory-friendly spaces furnished with noise-canceling headphones and sensory toys.
          • Wayfinding Information: Adequate wayfinding information is strategically positioned to raise awareness of available facilities at the event.
          • Accessibility Map: An accessibility map will be posted on the event website and shared on social media.

          The City of Surrey has partnered with the Canucks Autism Network to offer a Sensory Space for anyone looking for a quiet, comfortable space during the event. This is located within the Wellness Garden in the middle of Holland Park. It will be open from 11am - 7pm both days.
