Nrityanjali Dance Academy is a premier Indian Classical dance school in Surrey. At Nrityanjali Dance academy students learn Kathak- an Indian Classical dance style with the basics of rhythm, body vocabulary, mathematics, and the spoken language called bols, and historical context. As they move up from the beginners to the intermediate and the advanced levels they learn the nuances of expressions and the basic essence of Kathak – the storytelling. The Artistic Director & Instructor Prajakta Trehan creates an environment of movement, music, culture and fun where students are encouraged to experience, explore and excel in this traditional Indian Dance form. The Kathak syllabus is well structured and approved by the Canadian Dance Teachers Association.
The students of the Academy have performed traditional Kathak in different cultural festivals organised in Vancouver and Victoria and have been immensely appreciated.
This year the students entered in the Surrey Festival of Dance competition and all the students placed first in their categories winning medals and trophies.
