The Cedar Hills Caledonian Pipe Band is a group of pipers, drummers and highland dancers from the local community who range in age from early 20s to their senior player at 75 years young.
The Pipe Band was in the concept stage for almost a year and, on February 18, 2002, the Whalley Legion gave final approval for backing from the membership and executive of the Whalley Legion to have as their base of operations.
On Monday, May 5, 2003, the membership voted to change the name to The Cedar Hills Caledonian Pipe Band. With the band more than a year old, their numbers were growing ... after their first year of operation, they'd already seen people come and go, but by then they had 6 pipers and 2 drummers, material for kilts and some uniform items.
They're always looking for new members and would be pleased to have you come out to one of their practices. Contact the Pipe Major before you come to their practices so they can watch out for you.
The future is looking great for the band as they continue to grow and develop. They look forward to seeing you soon, if you don't hear them first.
